Counselor Extraordinaire

Jen Grippo, LPC

After the painful experiences you’ve been through, you may wonder if you’ll ever be able to feel joy or peace. You may feel anxious, overwhelmed by strong emotions, numb, detached or exhausted. You may also find yourself struggling to trust others enough to share your inner thoughts and feelings with them and may feel confused about who you are or what you want out of life. You may even question whether you will ever feel better. I genuinely believe there is hope, and I would love to help you by providing a safe and warm environment for you to comfortably explore your innermost being.

I received my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Judson University and have a bachelor of science degree in psychology. I devoted my career to helping others heal and prosper. Prior to working as a mental health counselor, I provided therapy as a registered behavior technician (RBT) helping children with autism by providing training and support for them and their families.

Throughout my work in mental health, I learned that building strong rapport is key! and I have a good understanding of how marriage and family matters can greatly affect the mental health of not only children but also parents.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, ASD, NPD, BPD, PTSD, suicidal ideation, existential crisis, life adjustments, and I work with individuals and families experiencing relationship issues. I also have a strong interest in career counseling.

My approach is eclectic, humanistic, and empathetic with an emphasis on building a strong sense of collaboration. To name a few, I utilize CBT, DBT, SFBT, FST, MI, ACT, and play therapy interventions and use an integrated approach in my counseling style.  My goal as your therapist is to tailor therapy to your specific needs since all individuals are unique while utilizing various modalities as needed. Through therapy we will work together to help you build more confidence and self-compassion, so you can learn to walk through life with a sense of freedom and simplicity.

Through rediscovering yourself, I believe you will obtain the ideal life you want to cultivate. We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you and only discuss what you are ready to share.

When I am not helping others, I enjoy spending time with my beloved children and partner, going on nature walks, learning about plants and organic nutrients, cooking and trying new recipes, reading the latest holistic and psychology literature, and honoring my partner’s cultural festivities. I find the mind, body, and spirit are all essential parts to achieve adequate wellness. I would like to help you be more accountable with achieving your health goals. Taking small steps can lead to making big changes in our lives, and I’m here to help you take those steps.
